Abstract:Briefly profiles Black Diamond Ranch Golf and Country Club in Lecanto, Florida. Details the construction process of the course, stating that "the golf course architect and other members of the design team, began a study of the site to identify methods to improve the environment. A large existing lake needed to be protected because it drained into an underground aquifer. The aquifer was a source of drinking water for the region." Concludes that "the project ahs been a success not only for the developers, but also for the environment. Wetland areas were created improving water quality and providing needed habitat for fish and wildlife."
