Abstract:Discusses Alice Dye's early years getting involved with golf. Explains how, at age 11, she fell in love with the game. Discusses her experiences with tournament play on courses that included Pinehurst, Pebble Beach, Oak Hill in New York and others and how they led her to take note of what made these courses so much better to play on than the courses at home in Indiana. Explains that the reasons for this included course features as well as the incredible conditioning of the courses for tournament play.
