Abstract:Discusses the design and construction of golf course irrigation systems. Topics discussed include plant water requirements; water sources including ponds, municipal water, and wastewater; water analysis; and the necessity for a separate supply of drinking water. Components of the irrigation system are described, including pump stations, pipes and fittings, sprinkler heads, and control systems. The importance of coverage and hydraulic principles in irrigation system design are discussed. Also includes a brief discussion of fertigation.
